Christmas at the Square 2025

Saturday, December 6, will be a busy, busy day! There is something to do for everyone, and we expect to see you on the Square in Historic Downtown Spencer!

Children: Santa is ready to hear what's on your list. And there will be gifts, treats, and reindeer dust for every child from Spencer Main Street and our community partners: the Spencer Lions Club, the Owen County Garden Club, and the Delts.

Grown-Ups: Whether you are shopping (we have 40 vendors!), visiting Santa, appreciating (and judging) the Merry Meter entries, or taking a carriage ride (for a small fee), we know you'll feel merry.

But wait! There's so much more!

• See SANTA arrive at the Market in his vintage Mustang! around 12:15–12:30 pm

• See gift-wrapping demonstrations and/or have a gift wrapped (donations accepted) with our special holiday paper and trimmings. 12–3 pm, Pride commUnity center

• Enjoy the Owen Valley Patriot Choirs. 12:30–1:00 pm, intersection of Washington & Franklin

• Wait until dark with the jazzy sounds of the Owen Valley Big Band as they lead us up to the Courthouse Lighting Ceremony, 5:30–6:00 pm, north Courthouse lawn

• Who will pull the switch?? Children in attendance starting at 5:30 can put their names in the hat. One lucky winner will light the Courthouse lights!

• Giant Rudolph and Caprice will make another appearance! Last year, they were on stage. THIS year, they will be on the Courthouse lawn to help us enjoy the lighting ceremony.

  

And beyond Christmas at the Square, our community partners have opportunities, too! All of these events are free.

• Holiday crafts at the Owen County Public Library. Starting at 11:30 am

• Christmas Open House at the Owen County Heritage & Culture Center. Warmth and refreshments inside the old Carnegie Library, 12–3 pm

• Crafts, toys, and a photo op at A Snoopy Christmas, Owen County Chamber of Commerce (120 S. Main St., Spencer). 1:00–4:00 pm

And of course, every eating establishment and retail venue will be available. You have no reason not to spend the entire day in downtown Spencer! The Spencer Main Street volunteers and the business owners will be there all day to make sure your holiday season starts out right. Won't you join us?
