Spencer Main Street has been actively involved in sprucing up its mission area: the nine-block area surrounding the historic courthouse.
Permanent Installation
Historic Liar's Bench
The courthouse square in Spencer has a new “liar’s bench” on the corner, giving storytellers a location to spin their tales.

A wooden bench was located on this site from the late 1930s to the early 2000s.
​
Contributions: SMS, OCRA, IOTD, Sweet Owen CVB, OCCF, Spencer VFW Post 1405, and Babbs.
Ongoing Project
Railroad Garden
The Railroad Gardens enhance three full blocks of downtown Spencer, starting from the Courthouse Square and running west along Franklin Street. Spencer Main Street is responsible for having the beds maintained throughout the year.
